1. Matt and I joined the Gospel choir at our church last week. We're singing with them this Sunday. We both really love it.
2. I've been spending a large chunk of my time in our backyard pulling weeds, planting flowers and just generally making things look nice. Next week we're planting a vegetable garden and I'm looking foward to fresh veggies later this summer.
3. Matt was interviewed in our local paper a few weeks ago about his novella. You can go here to read it:
4. I'm working on graduate school applications (just two) and I find that I really hate writing essays about myself. I'm glad that I took classes last semester though because that got me back into school mode and helped me to remember how I BSed my way through undergrad, it really is a useful skill.
5. I went home and hung out with the family a few weekends ago and it was a blast as always. We celebrated Mother's Day and my birthday (about a month early) and rode bikes for ice cream and just generally had a good time.
6. I am currently getting into quilting, I'm working on finishing one at the moment and I bought some fabric scraps to try my hand at piecing one together. I don't have a sewing machine so it could get pretty interesting, I'll let you know how it goes.
I think that's all for now.
